7 Treasures (2025)
This work offers a satirical and critical reinterpretation of the traditional Kazakh concept of the "Seven Treasures," exposing the cultural expectations that continue to shape women's lives. Drawing from both personal memory and collective experience, the artist uses her own body as material - cutting, fragmenting, and reassembling it into forms that resemble domestic objects such as brooms, irons, and pots. One of the "treasures" - the "beautiful wife" - is reimagined as a hybrid figure: a female body with a wolf's head. This metamorphosis exposes the tension between patriarchal ideals of softness and obedience and the strength and resilience that women inherently possess.
